Coffeework

Terms of service

Terms.

Last updated: May 13, 2026

By using Coffeework (the iOS app, the website, or both — collectively, "the service") you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English. Email hello@richardsaethang.com if anything's unclear.

Who can use Coffeework

You need to be at least 17 to use the service. By signing up you confirm that you are.

Your account

You're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password private. Don't impersonate someone else. We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or behave in a way that makes the service worse for other people.

Content you submit

Photos, captions, edit suggestions, plan invites, private notes, profile details — anything you put into the service. You keep ownership of whatever you create. By submitting it, you grant Coffeework a limited, non-exclusive license to display it inside the service so the service can do its job (e.g., showing your photo on a café page after the curator approves it).

Don't submit anything that's illegal, harassing, infringing on someone else's rights, or fake. Don't submit photos that include people who haven't agreed to be photographed for this purpose. The curator reviews all photo submissions and edit suggestions before they appear publicly, and can reject anything for any reason.

The directory

The café listings, descriptions, curator notes, and metadata are written and curated by Coffeework. You can read them and reference them. You can't scrape them, repackage them, or train AI models on them without written permission.

Connections + check-ins

The social features are opt-in. If your profile visibility is on, other users can find and follow you. You can block users and report any account or piece of content that violates these terms — email us with the report and we'll review.

Check-ins require your physical proximity to the café. Don't fake them. Persistent or coordinated abuse of the check-in system can get your account suspended.

Plans (work-date invites) are open-RSVP by default. If you make one, you're inviting people to a public place at a public time. Be reasonable about what you commit to.

Paid tiers

If we offer a paid subscription, terms specific to the subscription (price, billing cycle, cancellation) will be presented at the point of purchase. iOS subscriptions are managed by Apple and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Things we don't promise

The service is provided as-is. We do our best to keep it running, accurate, and useful, but we can't guarantee uptime, accuracy of café details (hours, wifi passwords, etc., change), or that the social features will produce a specific outcome. Use your judgment.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Coffeework's liability for any claim related to the service is limited to whatever you've paid us in the last 12 months (or $50 if you haven't paid anything). We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Termination

You can delete your account anytime by emailing us. We can close accounts that violate these terms. Some data may be retained as required by law (e.g., transactional records for tax purposes).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA.

Changes

If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify active users. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
